Description:Spectrum Health Companies is a Minnesota-based statewide community health care provider of Assisted Living, Memory Care, Homecare and Independent Living services.

Our Eveleth Corporate office is seeking an Authorization Coordinator to ensure that authorizations are obtained on an ongoing basis for homecare and assisted living services. Establish practices, guidelines and procedures to be followed in all aspects of the authorization process. Coordinate and communicate as needed with homecare and assisted living personnel to complete processes in a timely manner. Professionally assist and nurture effective working relations with all management, employees, clients, vendors, and the public.

Duties:Manage ongoing authorizations for all service and payor types.

Utilizing current homecare and assisted living sofware, run appropriate reporting on a monthly basis to check authorization status. Utilize insurance websites to confirm payor sources and eligibility.

As authorization is obtained or payors change, promptly obtain proper documentation and fill out proper paperwork.

Work with all Spectrum Homecare and Assisted Living facilities to obtain required clinical information to submit requests for ongoing authorizations.

Work with Billing and Prior Authorization staff to ensure timely and accurate information is provided to meet authorization and billing requirements.

Review insurance updates and policies on an ongoing basis for changes regarding authorization, coding, etc.

Qualifications:Preferably, a minimum of two years' prior authorization/billing experience in a professional fast-paced office, preferably within the health care industry.

Position requires candidates to have a high level of proficiency in general computer programs including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Candidates will be subject to a criminal background study and must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

An advanced degree is preferred; healthcare experience beneficial.
